Lionel Messi took to social media to share his delight after helping Inter Miami into the quarter-finals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

    The club's Argentine captain scored one goal and assisted another as the Florida club beat Nashville 3-1 at home in the second leg of their last-16 tie. Luis Suarez set up Robert Taylor to round off the scoring and sending them through with a 5-3 win on aggregate.

    The Argentina hero posted images on Instagram of himself celebrating alongside his Herons co-stars and added the caption: "Off to the quarters!"

    Having played a key role in the win, Messi now has five goals and five assists in as many games across the Champions Cup and MLS. However, the 36-year-old sustained a leg injury in the game and coach Gerardo Martino said he will likely be left out of their next match to recover.

    WHAT NEXT FOR INTER MIAMI?

    Tata Martino's team will now go on to face either Cincinnati or Monterrey in the last-eight of the competition, with those two teams still to play out the second leg of their tie. Before they fight for a place in the semi-finals, though, Miami will face D.C. United in MLS on Saturday.
